The Toy Blox March Break 2008 Camps are now accepting registration.  We have added a few new programs that are sure to please.  For ease of planning, our March 2008 Calendar is below

Stop Motion Photography

Stop Motion Photography is a great way to tell a story with LEGO.  Our program will teach children ages 8 and up to set up a scene in groups of 4 kids using LEGO, photograph and download to stop motion software, and burn a DVD of their story to take home.

No experience is required - all materials provided.

Cost: $40.00 per child (includes DVD of child's movie)

Classes held Tuesday, March 11 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Bridge Building 101

Bridge Building 101

Young Engineers ages 5 and up can learn about the 4 different types of structural bridge used in the 20th century using LEGO.  Kids will experiment with building different types of bridges and test the strength of each. 

Registration Required

Cost: $10.00 per child

classes held Monday March 10 and Wednesday March 12 from 9:30 - 11:30 am

 

 

Paint & Build

LEGO Paint & Build Class

Children ages 5+ can have fun in our interactive class.  Our 2 hour program includes painting a T-Shirt (retail value $20.00) that they take home (once dried) and LEGO games and activities. 

Cost: $20.00 per child

Times: Monday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 12, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

 

 

Introduction to Robotics with Mindstorms NXT

March Break 2008 CAMP PROGRAM

Introduction to Robotics - young engineers can learn to design, build and program a robot using Lego’s MINDSTORMS ROBOTICS NXT.  

This program is for kids that have never used the LEGO Mindstorms prior, but have an interest in robotics and this LEGO system. 

No previous skill is required but experience with a computer is an asset. 
This camp is for Ages 10 - 14. 

Camps run Thurs March 13 and Friday March 14 from 9:30 - 12:30pm

Cost: $30.00 per child per session.  Spaces are limited (8 children per session).  Registration Required.

NXT - Adventure classes

NXT experienced kids ages 10 and up will have fun with exotic adventures in far away lands.  Kids will design, build and program robots through unique challenges. 

This camp is for ages 10 and up.  

Classes will run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Thursday March 12 and Friday March 14.

Cost: $30.00 per child per session.  

Maximum 8 children per session. Registration required.

LEGO® BUILD & PLAY WORKSHOPS

LEGO® Build & Play Workshops will run hourly sessions every Wednesday evenings

Times:  7:00 pm to 8:00 pm 

All workshops will include:

* Build Castles and Spaceships

* Create Colourful Mosaics

* Build and Battle with Bionicles

* Play Games

* Meet new friends

Cost: $5.00 per session per child ($2.00 Gift Certificate presented at end of session)

Note: waivers must be signed by guardians prior to leaving child with us

Lego® Birthday Parties

For Lego® fans between 5 and 10 years old, The Toy Blox offers birthday parties. Our Parties include a combination of:

  • 2 hours in our Private Play Room
  • Staff Support Person to assist with Party Activities
  • 1 Pizza Slice and Pop (cake storage available)
  • Free play time at our play centre
  • Building Competitions
  • Party Games (i.e. Musical Chairs with Lego® prizes)
  • “Exoforce” Game

We require one adult per six children to assist our staff in supervision during parties. Reservations are required and must be made a minimum of 1 week in advance, subject to availability. To ensure quality games and service, we require a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 children per party.

The cost is $12.99 plus tax per child.
